David Byrne Bike Rack
One of two bike racks designed by Musician David Byrne (Talking Heads) for the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The racks are ”an interchangeable system of letters of the alphabet which can be assembled to spell words. The Byrne bike racks allow the creation of only certain letters in the alphabet, creating a special ‘Byrne Bike Rack Alphabet.’ The first word formations—“PiNk cRoWN” and “MicRo LiP”—are selected by Byrne himself.”

on corn muffins and persistence
There’s a blind guy in front of the bakery on court street yelling “can somebody get me a corn muffin!” I crossed the street with my coffee and watched him for awhile. He must have yelled “can somebody get me a corn muffin!” about 50 times. After 10 minutes of him just yelling into the air, a woman came out and handed him a corn muffin. I think there’s a lesson here.
